I just found out that I’m going to be supporting Turin Brakes at The Source in Carlisle. It’s a really intimate gig for the band, and I’m chuffed to be doing the support slot. It helps that I’ve been a fan of the band for years too, I’m rather excited! Woohoo!

Following the success of my last online gig, I’ve decided to do another one. The next online gig will take place on Thursday the 22nd September at 8pm. Here is the link to the gig: http://www.stageit.com/paul_liddell/totally_unplugged/4569

The last online gig was great fun with lots of good crack, so I have high hopes for this one. The show works on a ‘pay what you can’ system. The minimum price is 10 cents (or 6 pence in English money!). That’s damn cheap for a whole gig I’m sure you’ll agree! However, If you’re a secret millionaire and you want to pay £1000 for the show, then that’s also totally fine!

My usual live show features live looping, effects, beats, trumpets and all kinds of musical tomfoolery. Well, not this one. This show will be just me and an acoustic guitar. Songs stripped down to the bare bones. If there is a particular song you would like to hear, reply to this email and I’ll do my best to play it. Or message me on the Facebook event page here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=207024432692369&view=wall&notif_t=event_wall

In an attempt to save thousands of pounds on diesel costs and prevent more premature wrinkling around my tired eyes, I’m having a go at some online gigs! My first online show will be broadcast live from my own living room on the 25th August at 8:30pm. I’d love for some of you guys that don’t get to see me live very often to open up your laptops and come along. The website is www.stageit.com and you can get tickets in advance from the site. I have decided to make the show FREE to watch, or ‘pay what you can’ as they call it on stageit. So go to the site and book a ticket. There are a limited number available, so get going!

My new EP  ’Help Yourself Float’ is out on the 28th March through 360 Degree Music www.360dgm.com . I’m playing a gig at Sunderland Minster to launch the CD on the 20th March. Feel free to come down and get a copy of the new EP before it officially comes out! It’s a really spectacular room, complete with stained glass windows and brilliant acoustics. The lovely people at the minster are even letting me set up a bar! Hopefully it should be a night to remember.

Support on the night comes from 4square, a fantastic modern folk quartet with members scattered all across the UK. I’ve managed to get them all together for this gig, expect folky fireworks and simultaneous violin playing and clog dancing! Yes, I am serious!

Tickets to the gig are £5 adv/£7 door. To book tickets, call me on 07971 011 732 or email me on paul@paulliddell.com . Thanks!

I’m going to be playing a gig in Millennium Square in Leeds on the 2nd September. The gig will feature the finalists of the Northern Trax contest which my song ‘A Quiet Kind Of Madness’ was selected for. Expected crowd turnout is 7000, and it’s being filmed by the BBC. I’m pant-shittingly excited!
